Ingredients

1/2 cup  
vegetable shortening
1/2 cup  
sugar
3/4 cup  
molasses
1  
egg
3 1/2 cups  
all-purpose flour
1 tsp  
baking soda
2 1/2 tsps  
McCormick® Ground Ginger
2 tsps  
McCormick® Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp  
McCormick® Ground Allspice
1/4 tsp  
salt

Directions

  1. Cream vegetable shortening and sugar with electric mixer.
  2. Add molasses and egg; beat well.
  3. With a spoon, stir in flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, allspice and salt. Dough will be stiff.
  4. Cover and chill one hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  6. Roll out dough on lightly floured cutting board to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut dough with cookie cutter.
  7. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
  8. Decorate as desired.
