Week 31

Welcome to my first week of maintenance, my rock star peeps! This was a week I’ll never forget for a couple of reasons: first, my fiancé and I celebrated our two-year anniversary of the day we met, and second, we were in Vegas. Now Vegas, remember, was my first “blow it” destination. I had been doing awesome on Jenny, as you may recall me BRAGGING about losing my 1-2 pounds a week (and sometimes more!*) and then, well, Vegas happened. I made some poor choices when it came to what I put in my body that weekend…er, four days…and I put on a couple of lb’s.

Anyway, we were back in Vegas for a charity poker tournament, and this time I knew I had to make better choices - like putting aside time for working out. Our hotel had a gym overlooking the pool, and I went and just put on my headphones and kind of lost myself on the treadmill for a few miles. In the past, looking out at a bunch of bikinis might have messed with my head, but, the truth is, swimsuits just don’t seem quite as intimidating as they used to.

That night, we had reservations at a super fancy French restaurant, known internationally for their amazingly rich food. Um, why did we decide to go there? Because we thought it would be “special” – and that’s what you’re supposed to do for an anniversary, right? Except that we didn’t need a highly caloric cream sauce and a super stuffy atmosphere to remind of us of what we have and what we’ve worked for in our relationship. So we left and went to a more relaxed seafood restaurant and had an amazing night. Turns out, we (ok, I) needed fish and steamed veggies. Who knew?

Now, because I don’t weigh in every week anymore, I don’t have any numbers to report. But I feel great, my fiancé says I look great - and hopefully not just because he has to – and my clothes are fitting great.

So overall, it was a pretty kick-a** week.

Viva Las Vegas, viva las anniversary, and viva las maintenance.

So ar, so good!
