Getting Started 11/04/2009
Week One
Ok…I lost 4.8* pounds my first week on Jenny! Normal people would round that up to five, yes? Five-ish? Whatever, I’m THRILLED. I’m also sort of shocked at how easy it is for me. I’ll admit, the first few days were a tad hairy - as in, a tad hungry - but by day four I was all over my JC. My body just had to adjust to Jenny’s right-sized portions. It’s funny, I was so used to eating huge, unhealthy portions before I started the program, that I think my BRAIN was hungrier than my stomach. Now I don’t feel hungry in between meals at all. (Especially since you get to eat six times a day on Jenny.) And, if I do, I just eat one of their SoupitizersTM. Those are part of a long, scientific story about this great eating strategy Jenny uses to help keep you satisfied called Volumetrics®, but my non-scientific version is that those soups are delicious.
My husband is doing the program with me, which has been great for both the support as well as bonding in general. Bonding’s always a good thing when you’re outnumbered by two kids, three cats and four dogs!
Jenny’s Chicken Carbonara is OUT OF CONTROL — so good. They also have these amazing mustard pretzel sticks that I use as croutons on my salad. That sounds weird…but it isn’t, I promise. To die for.
I haven’t really attacked the activity part of the program where I’m supposed to "move" more, which is code for me getting off the couch. But I will. My consultant says, "small steps," and I really appreciate that. This is a journey I’m on - I’m not going to transform over night. But I’m FIVE-ISH pounds closer to my goal, I’m really happy with my program - so happy, sometimes I have to pinch myself.
