Vacation is no excuse!

What's up Jenny Craigers! Hope everyone out there is doing well — I just had some time off after the season and went on a little vacation. I should have asked YOU before I left about good tips for keeping up with healthy eating while you're on vacation. I am sure you all have some great ones too! It seems that on vacation it's always more difficult to make healthy choices. When you're away from home and not on your normal routine it takes more focus to practice what Jenny has taught us (or is teaching us). I think it's ok to indulge and enjoy yourself on vacation - you know, use some of these days to include a few "splurges". BUT vacation is also a perfect time to engage in some activities that you normally wouldn't do. For instance, if you're near the beach, go for a run or long walk in the sand. Go for a swim, kayak, play paddle ball or even throw a football. Use the opportunity to walk to restaurants. If you're in the mountains, go hiking or ride bikes. You get the picture…do whatever you want just give yourself a break from the gym or your usual routine. You'll feel great when it's over and you will have taken advantage of the great things your vacation has to offer. Plus, you will feel a little bit better about those extra calories you might be taking in. Don't use vacation as an excuse to go completely off your healthy eating and exercise — but definitely relax and enjoy yourself!
