How do you all feel about the restructuring of the menu plans at JC Australia? I hate it. They don't allow you to plan your own menus anymore. They say lots were doing it wrong and that's why they don't allow you to substitute meals anymore. I wasn't doing it wrong, and now I'm really frustrated. They say they did it to make us more successful, but if anything it's forcing me to go off plan. In order to get the dinners I like best, I have to take lunches I don't like now. Some I truly hate! So I am buying food I hate, throwing it away and substituting something else anyway! That stinks.
It may be in part because I'm an American now living in Australila, and I just have different tastes in foods -- for instance, pumpkin soup is something I just would never eat, so I don't know if it's always terrible, or if just JCs version is terrible. The new tomato soup 'n' noodles is really bad, too. I just throw it away and have something else.

If I was told what to eat, I personally wouldn't continue with the program. The way they have it here, even if one day is slightly out of balance, at least over a week you are getting overall what you need. Which is the way we should aim for it to be in life.
Can you do some "meal on your own" yet? Maybe that would help out. And if enough people don't like it, or leave because of it, they will have to change it once again or lose business. Have you written to the Head Office about it?
Good luck with this.

Hi Anna,
Yes there has been a change in the structure of the menus but I think it's in a good way !!!
We now have a choice of about 80 different days to choose from and believe me I am really fussy with my food but I just stick to the meals I like or exchange them for something on the exchange list-which is totally acceptable as long as it is on their exchange list.
As far as the soups go-I really like the Thai pumpkin soup but there are so many other things to choose from besides soup.
I think you really need to go and have a chat with your consultants and let them know your likes and dislikes...there is no way I would pay for something I didn't like just to throw it out...I'm sure they wouldn't expect that.
Good luck with it all and let us know how you get on

I must admit, the first week of the new system I was not impressed. But I actually found it was more to do with my attitude than the food choices. I have found that I have a few favorite days that I put in each week, and then I choose some new ones to try it out. So far I have been very happy with the choice. I love the eating out days - its now so easy to have a dinner out and know what to pick as well as know that you have made allowences in the day.
I would talk to your consultant Anna, just tell them what you said here and let them help you come up with a solution that works, after all thats what you are paying them for. No point in sabotaging your efforts when I am sure your consultant can help you.
Good luck!

I can't do "meal on my own" yet as I'm not at my half way point yet.
As to having 80 days to choose from (I believe it's actually 77) that doesn't help when my favorite dinners are generally combined with lunches I hate. For instance, I really like the Chicken Fettuccini. But they only offer it on 2 days! So I can choose to have it with a breakfast I hate, or with a lunch I hate. Hmmm. Not a good choice to me. Surely in all those new days, they could have offered this dinner on more than 2 days!
Used to be there was always a JC snack each day. Now some days I don't get one at all.
I don't know how much longer I'll put up with being forced to order things I don't like ... I'm nearly to my half way point anyway, so maybe I'll wean myself off their food entirely and go it on my own.

Hi Anne,
When I started JC last October I couldn't afford to do 7 days so my consultant suggested I did 5 JC days and 2 on my own which worked out great. I am now past my half way goal and I do 3 days JC. Have a chat with your consultant, I'm sure that something can be worked out. I have also picked days but said to Debs, my consultant, that I didn't want the snack so they have suggested what I could have instead. The consultants get paid to help you so let them earn their money. I think this site is a good idea but I have never been to the States, I am in Adelaide
