Hi to all,
I'm in sunny Darwin and would love to keep in touch with others who have either just started or rejoined like me.
I started last Saturday and must say found the first few days really hard... I was starving!!!!
Anyway, day 5 today and it is getting easier, the hunger has died down to a dull roar and is easier to cope with now.
I'm curious about the exercise thing... I've started walking each day but has anyone else joined a gym to do weights? I'm not sure if we should be doing weights or if they halt the progress on the old scales... love to hear if any of you are doing weights and if its made a difference or not.
Cheers

Hi
I've been on the programme for 10 weeks now, and have only managed to lose 5 kgs. I'm quite bored with the food too. Luckily they've just had a tiny bit of a menu update, so there's a tad more variety.
As for exercise, well I actually got a tube and tone exercise video from JC, and it's great! I really enjoy it. They've also just released a new walking video which I'm planning to buy this week. It's nice that you can do 10 - 15 minute exercises in your lounge.

Thanks for that Linky. I've been walking most nights so will keep doing that until I get bored then try something else. My first weigh in is Friday night so I'll keep you posted.

Hi Julie,
I'm in NZ and rejoined a week ago. My first weigh-in was Saturday and I am down 1.5kgs. The new food is great, but I was hungry for the firsy three days. probably cause I'd been eating whatever, whenever beforehand!! I'm just doing walking at the moment too, but will add in some weight training exercises that I can do at home to start with.
let us know how you got on on Friday
Cheers,
Marmy

Hi Marmy,
Well done 1.5kg is great, congratulations. My first weigh in was Friday night and I lost 1kg which is not too bad for me as I know I'm a slow loser. Yes the new food is much better than it used to be, making it easier to stick to. I had not such a great weekend, blew right out on Saturday but i guess we all have those days. I must admit i went crazy yesterday with the exercise to try and equalize out the bad day... so we'll see what happens.
I'm a little concerned that when doing weights it will negate the weight loss on the scales as I know from past experience that even though I became quite small in size, the scales didn't move much. With paying out $100 per week for JC I wonder if I'm not better off just walking until I get my weight down and then doing weights otherwise I'll never reach goal. Have you had experience with weight training before?
Let me know , i'd love to hear from you.

Hi Julie and co,
I'm in Melbourne and have been on the program since January. I've only lost 10kgs with 3 more to go so progress has been very slow but I must admit that there has rarely been a week with 100% JC food (or a true pyramid day now that I am over half way) and there has NEVER been a whole week without alcohol
The exercise has a made a huge difference for me. I started walking for a hour about 3 times a week at a fast pace, then got the Tube and Tone video which is excellent and although it doesn't seem that hard - you really feel it the next day!!! I joined the gym in June due to the bad weather down here and have been doing either weights or Tube/Tone 2 - 4 times per week with some form of cardio thrown in on two of the other days. It has made my progress slow down a bit scale-wise but my measurements are great and my muscle tone is much better. I've actually slowed the exercise down a bit the last couple of weeks because I think I was overdoing it and that has helped me start to lose again. I also bought the Leslie Sansone Walking Tape at the centre 2 weeks ago and that is good too.
Sorry for rambling, good luck with your new way if life!!!
Cute.
PS If you want to read a good book with some really good tips, try Confessions of a Reformed Dieter by AJ Robertson. She's a Sydney comedian who lost about 45 kgs through balance eating and exercise. Very easy and interesting to read and really helpful.

Hi again,
Well, I didn't lose any weight at my last weigh-in, but at least I didn't gain. I have to admit that like Cute but not Cuddly, I haven't stuck to JC everyday, and that's probably why I didn't lose. I also have to admit that I had a binge last week - organising a wedding is really stressful! But I'm back on track this week, and even though I'm still having sugar cravings, I'm under control for now.
Any tips on how to stay motivated to exercise? I just feel so tired and drained by the time I get home from work, that I just can't muster up the energy to do the tube and tone (as much as I enjoy it)

Nevermind... you'll lose next week. if your anything like me its never regular loss anyway, but over time it averages out.
As for exercise, I know what you mean, it is hard some nights to do it, but I just know that I'll feel better if I do it, so I walk in the door and throw my work out clothes on straight away and out the door I go. Sometimes though if you are really tired I think just a quick lie down , say 10 mins or so is enough to just jump start you, but thats a personal thing I guess.
Keep going you're doing really well.....

What a surprise. Have just joined JC myself and was just looking around on the net to see what around about it. You guys have a wonderful support network going and would love it if I could join. Have got about 14kgs to lose and my first weigh in, is on Monday. Its the first time in soooo long I'll be wanting to hop on the scales as I feel that I deserve to lose.
I have stuck to the programme religiously and have walked 5days this week - which is an absolute shock to my body!!!!
Hope everyone is having a great week and would love to keep in regular contact with eveyrone
Cheers

Hi Marmy,
Thanks for the support and encouragement. Wow you are going so well. Have got a goal of trying to lose 12kg before christmas which I know is a long shot but with persistance and a lot of hard work I hopefully will make it work.
When I put my mind to it I tend to lose weight pretty easily put on the downside I can also put on weight very easily also.
Good luk with your weigh in, wil update with how mine goes Monday night.

Well my weigh in went well, -2.25kg. Am absoutely stoked, it shows how much bad food I was eating b4 beginning this programme. Am hoping for another kilo this week.
I hope everyone has been successful. Would like to keep in regular contact with people as I know I will probably struggle without people to talk to about it.
Have a great day

Hi, my name is Natasha. Thought I would put a post in here even though there hasn't been a reply in over a month. I am from Perth and I just signed up today. It is nice to see some online support for a computer junkie like myself. =)
