Hi there
I've noticed a few more names on this message board so I thought I'd write a short note.
I started JC back in March 02 and had lost around 13kgs. I had to stop for the past few months due to monetary committments, but and all fired up to re-start in the new year. I've bought a u-bewt exercise bike so there are no more excuses about not getting to the gym.
I just dropped a Chrissy card off to the girls at the centre and they asked me to weigh in. Unfortunately I have put on quite a few kilos (approx 5kgs) since not being on JC, but I know I can get this off again. I think I went a tad overboard with some of the things I've been eating.
Hope you all have a good Christmas and New Year, and maybe we can chat soon.
PS I'm Wendy from Canberra, 33 yo, recently married, and no kids.
See ya

Hi Lani
Nice to hear from you.
You can never say exactly how long it's going to take to lose a certain amount of weight. It took me from March to October to lose my 13kgs, but I wasn't going berserk on exercise. Some weeks I lost 1.2 other weeks I only lost 0.5kgs.
When I start back next year I will put in more effort and try and lose 1kg per week. The other thing is, I didn't want to lose it too quickly because I wanted to learn the skills it took to be able to do it on my own. (Obviously I didn't take too much in because I've put on a few kgs.)
Anyway, good luck with it and hope to keep on chatting.

Welcome LAni, and welcome back Wendy!
It's good to see some other Aussies around. Pity there aren't more of us - and we always seem to be from different states! I'm up in Brissie.
Lani - I think the average (or healthy) weight loss per week is 0.5 - 1kg. Some weeks you will lose more, some less. On average I usually lose about 0.7kg, when I'm being good. But you can't rush these things, it's a lifestyle change and they say the longer it takes to come off the easier it will be to keep off. We need to give our bodies time to adjust to the changes, and our minds time to learn good habits so we won't regress. MAybe you can judge it on about 3kg loss a month (as some will be better than others) but this will always depend on the individual. For example if you are likely to stray (or cheat) a bit like I do, how active you are etc... you'll get there. Try not to put a time limit on it as you may disappoint yourself. We're all here together on this journey!
Hope to catch you both around the boards.
Nat
P.S. Have you guys figured out/got used to the lb/kg conversions yet? funny - it becomes 2nd nature enough after a while... If you don't know 1kg is 2.2lbs...

Hi guys,
I realise it will be a slow process, just curious so I can see how much time I have to save some dollars for my holiday with my bf next year!!
gotta be able to wear the bikinis first.
I have been sticking strictly to the JC diet and exercising a lot.
Walking the dog every night - 20 mins and 3 times a week I go to gym. For 2 classes, each 45 mins.
Hopefully I will get there.
I just feel asthough I have put the weight on because I am so full all the time...
I have just been doubling my weight to convert it to lbs..thanks for that...
