HereFishie
Hi all,

I've been doing JC since the beginning of the year. This is one NYE resolution that I've actually kept!
I go to the downtown Oliver location saturday mornings for 9am for my weigh ins.

I share my Jenny journey with everyone and anyone that will bother to listen because of how excited I am how its changed my life!

Any other peeps on here from Alberta want to get a thread going?? Step up!

We can do this!
Sarahwantshealth
Hey HereFishie,

I have spoken to you before, I am from alberta. I go to the mayfield common Jenny center. I only have 29 pounds left to lose. YEAH!!!! I feel so alive and healthy. I can finally out run my kids. I hope to never look back to the big me.

Jenny Craig has been a life saver for me. I am so very grateful.

Anyone else out there from Oil Country?

Hi ladies! Nice to see some Edmontonians. I posted a few days ago.
I'm going to join again. I am torn though. I went through Mayfield last time I joined. My consultant was nice, but not quite my personality. Seemed to just have canned answers to questions.
Anyway, can you give me a review of your consultants? I haven't been to the Oliver location. Any opinions would be welcomed. Thanks. smile.gif

Hi Cory! Welcome! I really like my JCC. Her name is unusual so easy to remember. Her name is Keisha. She's sweet and great. She understands my unique challenges with JC that others she consults don't have. I have strong muscle growth goals. I don't want to be a body builder but when I get to goal, I don't want to be a "skinny fat"... I want tone and lean muscle!

JC is not geared to someone who exercises a ton and it doesn't have the protein levels to support muscle retention let alone growth. So with her personal weight training experience on her own body and her JC background, we found a great solution that led me to adding protein shakes. Even thought I'm officially on 1500 cal menu, she's supporting me in this and I've been adding the extra 200 cal a day for the last month. I still lose consistently 1-2 lbs a week and I'm becoming strong and lean. I like her because she doesn't just give the canned answers, she finds me solutions!

Hi Sarah!

Over 70 lbs down... I can't imagine how fantastic you must feel! How long did it take you to lose that? What is your goal size?
Sarahwantshealth
Hey,

Like you I have goals to gain muscle and just not lose the fat, but unfortunately my consultant isn't as understanding as yours, so I tweak my plan myself. I still find myself losing.

I feel great! I have been with Jenny since November but my highest weight at 250 was in july. I lost very slowly before just by starving. When I realized it wasn't working I called Jenny, lol.

My goal is 150 maybe now 160 as I am looking smaller than I imagined I would at the weight I am now. smile.gif

Hey everyone,

I am from Edmonton as well and always go to the South Edmonton Common center. I've only just started in May but I am already down 14lbs! Its been great so far I am really enjoying it. Congrats to you Sarah! you are like an inspiration I have the exact same amount of weight to lose so seeing you more then half way there is definately inspiring. Keep up the good work ladies. smile.gif
Sarahwantshealth

Hi girls!!

I'm in Fort McMurray and doing Jenny Direct as there is no center here. I weighted in this morning to finish off my second week and down another 4 lbs, so 9.5lbs total! I'm so happy and excited! We are in the process of moving to Stettler and when we do I will then be going to the Red Deer Center, I can't wait cause then my food menu will include frozen foods!

Alexis,

Frozen foods are wayyy better than the shelf stable items. You are not gonna want to eat those anymore. I make it a point that none of those are on my menu every week.

I figured that, I'm on week 3 and already board with the food choices that I have. When I asked about stopping by a center and picking up some frozen stuff (like the next time we are in Edmonton) the consultant on the phone said " you are supposed to pick us or them, not go back and forth" ????? Are they not the same company? Anyway next time I'm in Edmonton I'm going to stop in and pick up something, cause who knows when our house will sell.

Hey I am from Alberta!! I grew up in Edmonton (Millwoods) but now live in the Windy (but beautiful) Lethbridge:)

I'm in Edmonton as well. I reached my goal weight November 2008 - I lost 149 pounds - and I've been on maintenance since. I go to the South Common centre.

Welcome to all the Alberta gals!

I just got back from 2 glorious weeks in Greece and believe it or not, with buffets a plenty, I actually managed to LOSE 3.8 lbs! I am excited for this! This means that when I get to goal, I will be able to maintain this lifestyle! I found myself paring back my plate sizes and choosing better things.. even at a buffet! One of the gals in my tour group actually noticed and mentioned it to me at one point about how much I was eating... she thought it was too little. LOL... she wasn't aware that I was maintaining my 6x/d eating even while on vacation!

I'm thrilled to find myself in the 160s for the first time in at LEAST 10 years! I LOVE Jenny!
clairinch
Hello Alberta!

I just joined Jenny and am going to the Oliver Centre. I actually cried after I got off that scale. I mean I'm not stupid, I knew I was overweight, but I need to lose 30 LBS just to get out of the clinically obese catagory. ohmy.gif

Anyway the first week is OK. I seem to be really hungry after lunch though. Partly that is my fault as I just cannot bring myself to eat salald without some kind of dressing. Anyone got any suggestions?

My greatest find is that being allowed one cup of milk at breakfast I can have a short non-fat latte at Starbucks. They don't even list that there is a short. No wonder our country is getting so overweight.

Big challenge for today is it is my birthday. I can resist the cake, but the fancy dinner out is going to be a challenge wacko.gif
Sarahwantshealth
Hey all,

You can do it Clairinch!!! Its hard in the beginning then gets easier as you go. So I thought anyway. You may have to give up certain things, like your Starbucks, but as most the people say on these forums "NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels"

I can't believe how dry its been here sad.gif Its getting scary.

Does anyones center get the blueberry pancakes yet???? Mayfield common has not gotten any yet. I want to try them!!! I also want the mocha shakes back!!! I tried the Beef Panini (not my favorite, but ok) and I also tried the strawberry shortcake, (tastes really good with FF whipcream.

Have a good weekend Albertans

Sarah

Hi laides!

Just checking in! Week 8 and down 17lbs!! I had to buy new pants! I was so excited!! I picked up some frozen foods from the JC centre in Red Deer when I was there house hunting. I managed to lose weight while on hoildays, I was so proud of myself!

How has everyone been doing? Heard that Edmonton finally got some rain.

Hi Everyone:

I am in Red Deer.

I lived in West Edmonton for 15 years though, and it is neat to hear all my old haunts mentioned. LOL

My consultant took a leave of absence from the centre, I had had her for two years, but was stagnating.

My new one is giving me new motiviation, and I am recommitted to doing this.
Just curious
Hey everyone,

On behalf of the JC staff I'd like to congratulate you for doing an awesome job thus far! Trust me, nothings more rewarding than to see our clients lose weight. We know weight loss is not an easy task to do and to be honest, even us as consultants have challenges with weight! No ones perfect so even if there's a week when you think you didn't do so well, its not the end of the world. All it takes is 3 days of JC and your body will adapt to weight loss calories again =)

Hi there,
I am from Wandering River (as if anyone will know where that is :-) I am 29 and in my mind at least 40 lb overweight. Glad to see so many people from Alberta on here. So far I'm loving the food, and loving reading all the pro advice on here for changing up the food. (I know I just started, but all the little extras are cool)
MommaChurch
I am also from Fort Mcmurray and I hate that they tell us we can't get the frozen foods. But I guess since I don't know what they taste like I am going just tell my self that I am not missing anything. Don't burst my bubble please. I haven't started just yet since it takes like 10day for the shippment. I am hoping it is because of Christmas.
*40 down- I know where you are since I travel by every time I want to see clivitation lol

For any one that is on Jenny Direct have you gone to a Jenny center and picked up frozen food... just want ot keep my options open.

How is everyone getting excerise now we are in the dead of winter!

Hi everyone, I'm in Beaumont, started on JC in June and lost 1/2 to my goal, then fell off and gained 10 lbs back - now it's my new years goal to stay on the program all year, even after I have some success. Nice to see all the locals here smile.gif

I was reading Sara's blog and wowsers she is doing great!!

I need some support I'll admit it unsure.gif
Cheers friends!

Hi everyone, I'm in Calgary. I have a 60 pounds to lose and just joined on December 31, 2009. Totally crazy day to join, but I wanted to start the new year doing something for me.

I have my first weigh in on Wednesday. Only 6 days on the JC plan. It's the only day that works with my schedule, I hope I have lost something.

I've been to the food section in the forum and have found some great ways to spice up the food. People who have been on JC for a long time have really come up with innovative ideas. Go check it out!!!

Good luck to everyone!\

Welcome to all the new Albertans! Its been a year since I started Jenny. In that time I've lost 66 lbs, travelled the globe to Vegas, Athens, Greek Islands, Turkey, Vancouver Island and Mayan Riviera and gotten engaged! This plan is movable and mobile! You can do this no matter WHERE you are!

Congratulations to everyone for starting your life over right NOW!

By now you will be living in Stettler, but as I was reading your old post I was wondering why you were not receiving frozen foods while on Jenny Direct??
Anyways hope you are doing great.

I have been a Jenny Member for 2 years and have recently moved so I had to switch to Jenny Direct.
So curious as to why you are not getting frozen foods and it is taking 10 days to deliver???
I live on an Island and my food arrives frozen.
You don't need to go to a centre thats why its Jenny Direct.
You are missing out on all the good foods.
Good Luck,

Hi Lolly,
I live in Northern Alberta, am on J.Direct also and I can't get frozen food shipped to me either. My food comes through the mail, so I think they are afraid it will thaw on the way??? It usually takes a full week to get here ( I weigh in and order on Sat, and I get it the following Friday-ish )

My consultant and I worked it out that I can swing by a center in Edmonton and buy some frozen as I please so I can still try it a bit.

You live on an island?? In Alberta??

Hi ,
No I moved from Alberta to PEI. To get Jenny Direct (with good frozen foods) you have to call the 1-800- Jenny Direct Number and transfer your membership over, no charge. Just say you are a mamber but there is no centre where you are. The food arrives every 2 weeks frozen to your door!!! The cost is about $50 more a month. If you order for 1 month you get a discount. The food will only arrive 2 weeks at a time. You have your own consultant call every week like I do too. (She is from California)
LOVE IT!!! Call 1-800- Jenny Direct. Let me know how it goes. Good Luck

I am live too far away they said. To receive frozen foods. Since I signed up for the premium package I am allowed to go to a center and pick up as much as I want. At first I asked Jenny direct and they said no but since packages do get lost (I learned the hard way still waiting for my first delivery ordered over 3 weeks ago... I actually got my second package a couple of days ago) I asked a center directly and they had no problem with it. I am guessing it is because Jenny Direct won't get my money. But it doesn't matter to me. I would like to get frozen dinners and some deserts. Not just chips and cookies. I am wanting to have a piece of that cheese cake!
We figured out why it took so long to deliver is becasue FedEx sent my package to NWT. I know I live up north but not that far!! LOL

Is there any others from Fort Mcmurray?

I went to the South Edmonton location. I joined JC in May 2007 and I lost 150 pounds. That is actually my picture and story they have up on the wall in the centre!

Hi Jenny members!
I'm in Calgary! I lost 50 lbs about three years ago on Weight watchers... I have tried to join again but it wasn't fun anymore and I went to three weigh ins and hadn't lost a single lb. Not up, not down.. nothing! Needless to say I knew I needed a change.
I joined Jenny and have been on it since sunday when I was given an appointment for Saturday morning when i called Friday night. I was totally pumped! I got up early and worked out before I went to the centre. When I got there, they had no record of my appointment. The woman on the phone wasn't apologetic at all and she just said she couldn't get me in. I thought - oh my god.. this is not a good start! The woman gave me the number for another location at the opposite end of the city. THEY were accommodating and got me in in 15 minutes... I got so excited that I got a speeding ticket on the way. sad.gif My consultant was sooooo nice and was sooooo apologetic for something that she didn't do! I was reallyt surprised. She got me motivated and ready for the first week. I'm on day 2 of the program and am finding the food extra delicious! This doesn't feel like a diet! My consultant traded my salty snacks for sweet, just how I like it and made sure I got chocolate desserts. mmmmm!
Anyways, just wanted to share how excited I am about the program! Yay!
Michele1992
I'm in Calgary. I started on January 25th and had my weigh in on the 29th and had already lost a pound in just little over 3 days. I don't really feel like I'm on a diet the food tastes so much better than Nutrisystem did when I was on a diet in 2008. The only thing is that it is making me and my husband very gassy not sure if it's the Jenny Craig food or just all of the vegetables doing it. LOL Well I hope this is the year for me to lose weight. I have 37 lbs to go. I wish everyone the BEST of LUCK. Michele
