Jenny Craig Redefines "Fast Food" With Newest Collection Of Recipes Designed For Busy People
LA JOLLA, CALIF., August 14, 2001 - Ask busy professionals who are juggling career and family what they can accomplish in 30 minutes and the answers will vary…from balancing a bank statement or reading their e-mail to working out or helping the kids with their homework. Cooking probably wouldn't make the top 10!
At least, not until now...thanks to the introduction of Jenny Craig's newest cookbook, "30 Meals in 30 Minutes," a recipe collection specifically designed to fit the nutritional needs of busy working people who have demanding schedules and often don't have more than 30 minutes to spare.
"We're redefining how busy people think about 'fast food,'" says Lisa Talamini, R.D., director of nutrition and program development at Jenny Craig, Inc., one of the largest weight management programs worldwide. "In the time it takes to pick up burgers and fries at a drive-thru window or wait for a take-out delivery, you can create a great meal at home."
"30 Meals in 30 Minutes," an 86-page spiral-bound cookbook, is a new collection of healthy recipes that save calories and fat without sacrificing flavor.
According to Talamini, "These meals are delicious, low-fat answers for busy people who are looking for simple solutions to shopping, cooking and healthy eating. Best of all, the recipes are quick to prepare, and there is one for almost every day of the month."
The "30 Meals in 30 Minutes" cookbook includes 30 pre-planned, nutritionally balanced menus with a cooking time of 30 minutes or less. Each menu includes:
- Entrée, side dish, salad and/or dessert recipe
- Nutritional analysis and food exchanges
- "Quick Meal Countdown" to coordinate every dish
- "At the Market" list to make weekly shopping a breeze
- "Kitchen Staples" list to keep instant meal-making ingredients on hand
"30 Meals in 30 Minutes", the first of a planned quarterly series of cookbooks to be released, will retail for $12.95. It will be available online at www.jennycraig.com and in Jenny Craig Centres nationwide starting August 13.Return to the Jenny Craig Media Room
