Jenny Craig Inc. Announces New Wellness Campaign: 'The Great Take-Off'
Jenny Craig Program Makes Client’s Dreams Come True
Carlsbad, Calif. (Jan. 22, 2009) — In addition to showing off her recent success on the program, Jenny Craig Inc.’s newest spokeswoman, Phylicia Rashad, announced today the start of a consumer program called ‘The Jenny Craig Great Take-Off’. The year-long program is designed to help men and women realize their goals and dreams achievable through weight loss and a healthier lifestyle.
The program goes beyond just ‘dropping the pounds’ to demonstrating how a new, healthy body can influence other aspects of one’s life. Losing weight is not the end game, but the beginning of a journey that will empower people to achieve many other goals and dreams.
Current and new clients are encouraged to upload a video-essay to www.JennyCraig.com/GreatTakeOff describing their journey and how their weight gain has kept them from achieving a specific goal. Whether their goal is to comfortably fly cross country to see a lost loved one, get the courage to perform on stage with a major recording artist, or go one-on-one with a professional athlete, Jenny Craig encourages people to share their dream. A panel of judges will select six winners whose goals will be realized in a special way.
“Achieving your goal is about much more than just losing weight,” said Rashad. “The idea behind the Great Take Off is to get people thinking about what they aspire to do once the weight comes off. People feel constricted when they aren’t at their ideal size and this program will help people start thinking about what they can do with their new lifestyle.”
Scott Parker, Vice President of Marketing for Jenny Craig, shares that the company also wants to reward clients who reach their goal. “We’ve heard from clients over the years how their life changed after they lost weight. This is our opportunity to reward those individuals with special experiences they never dreamed possible,” said Parker.
