Corporate Dietitian and Program Development Manager

As a Manager of Program Development, Karen Lush helps to drive the development of the Jenny Craig menus, program materials and counseling strategies utilized by staff and clients. Ms Lush also provides technical expertise in the creation of non-food products such as cookbooks, activity tools and motivational products, offers content for the Jenny Craig website, and directs the enrollment of clients with special health conditions, such as insulin-dependent diabetes.

Prior to joining Jenny Craig's Program Development team, Ms Lush specialized in community nutrition as a Regional Manager for the Women Infant and Children Program, where she oversaw their South County clinics. Before that, she held the position of Assistant Director of Patient Services at UCSD Thornton Hospital in La Jolla, California, where she managed both the food service and clinical nutrition departments, as well as worked as a clinical and outpatient dietitian. Ms Lush began her career as a clinical dietitian at Paradise Valley Hospital in San Diego.

Ms Lush received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Nutritional Science with a minor in Psychology from Cal Poly State University. She went on to complete her Master's in Public Health and Dietetic Internship at Loma Linda University, focusing on childhood obesity. One of her key projects was to work with the San Diego County Health Services to create the Coalition on Children and Weight.

Ms. Lush has a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management from the American Dietetic Association and a Certificate of Active Lifestyle Facilitation Skills Training from the Cooper Institute. As a registered dietitian, Ms Lush is an active member of the American Dietetic Association, California Dietetic Association and San Diego Dietetic Association, the ADA Weight Management Practice Group and the ADA Dietitians in Business and Communications Practice Group.
